Are the individual owners allowed to make changes to the LCP?
The answer to this question is yes and no, depending on what changes are contemplated. Although the LCP is designated for the exclusive use of the individual strata lot, it still remains under the jurisdiction of the Strata Corporation. All and any proposed changes/alterations to LCP and CP must be submitted in writing to the Council for approval, in some cases these proposed changes/alterations may be referred to an Annual General Meeting of the owners for approval. In the case of a major change/alteration of a permanent nature could result in a new bylaw being created, which would require a vote at a Special or Annual General Meeting. If passed, the bylaw would then be registered in the Land Titles Office.
