Are the immigration laws in Mexico strictly enforced or rarely enforced?
*Very* strictly enforced. The Mexican government routinely runs ‘stings’ to find employers, especially in the southern States, that are hiring illegal aliens. Such illegals are generally deported with little or no opportunity to appeal or challenge their deportations. They are usually not even given the chance to tell their families they’ve been arrested or to collect personal belongings. While Mexico is a poor country by US standards it is a rich one by the standards of its southern neighbors, and has a large illegal alien population.
