The HomeGenie Wireless cameras communicate with the HomeGenie Gateway using wireless technology. However, the Wireless Cameras require power to operate. Operating power is supplied by plugging the manufacturer supplied power cord into a wall outlet or by installing 5 AA size batteries. Batteries will provide power for approximately 2-hours of live video use. The HomeGenie wireless camera comes with a power cord that is seventy-five inches long.
