Are the High Diesel Fuel Prices Taking Their Toll on Truck Washes?
Independent truck drivers are getting slaughtered with high fuel costs, some are now threatening to park their trucks if diesel prices rise any higher. Obviously, there is not very much profit left to afford truck washes. The other day, the Online Think Tank had some dialogue about the number of ancillary trucking industry sub-sectors were taking a hit because of the high diesel prices. Now then, in “personal observation” I have noted that truck washes like Little Sisters has fewer trucks, and some of the independent truck washes too, but a low-cost high volume truck washing company that deal with the Super Fleets such as Swift, JB Hunt, Wal-Mart, etc, would still do “OKAY.” No, they will not break any speed records, and Blue Beacon will not have record sales, but they will survive.
