The aim of the headlamps is checked on dipped beam, however there is a very small number of headlamps that should be checked on main beam. These are generally lamps with a circular lens marked with a figure ‘1’ followed by an arrow indicating the direction of dip. The vehicle examiner will instruct you how to use your headlights for testing.
