Are the Greek or Roman gods and goddesses good or evil?

I think they were neither. It depended on their mood, although the overall stories give some directional morals. I think some of the humans were actually more good than the Olympian gods. Uranus was the first supreme god. His son, Chronos, removed his genitals when Chronos wanted to take over. That was pretty nasty (flies in the face of “Thou Shalt Honor Thy Father and Mother”?). Then Chronos, fearing that his own children might take over from him, started eating them. Eek! A bit of a self-server. Didn’t he have faith in himself, or was he just not godly enough? Finally Zeus and his brothers Poseidon and Hades, and sister Hera, took over from Chronos. Well, once again that honoring Father and Mother thing was conveniently ignored… Zeus went on to marry Hera. Brother and sister became husband and wife. Eek! Zeus, however, not content enough with his Hera, went below and messed around with quite a few other deities and nymphs. Poor helpless Hera. One story tells of how Zeus was in love
