The category’s five nominees announced Tuesday morning included: Kevin Bacon, “Taking Chance,” HBO; Kenneth Branagh, “Wallender,” PBS; Chiwetel Ejiofor, “Endgame,” PBS; Brendan Gleeson, “Into the Storm,” HBO; Jeremy Irons, “Georgia O’Keeffe,” Lifetime. The Golden Globes, Hollywood’s second-biggest film honors after the Oscars, will be presented Jan. 17 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, televised live by NBC and hosted by comic actor Ricky Gervais.

The category’s five nominees announced Tuesday morning included: Penelope Cruz (“Nine”), Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air”), Anna Kendrick (“Up in the Air”), Mo’Nique (“Precious”) and Julianne Moore (“A Single Man”).
