Are the federal and provincial governments supportive?
The federal and provincial governments have funded the preliminary studies that led to the development and completion of the NMC concept and business model. The February 2008 official funding announcement from the provincial government enables us to pursue a similar financial commitment from the federal government for the project. What has the City of North Vancouver contributed to the development of this project? City of North Vancouver Council embraced the project concept when it was first approached by the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Since then, the City of North Vancouver has funded the studies needed to align the NMC concept with its historic Pier development site. City Council also approved rezoning of the site and negotiated developer contributions to ensure the project was financially feasible before approaching senior governments with funding requests.
