Are the existing SGV / TOX reports withdrawn?
We have published two updated reports – “Human health toxicological assessment of contaminants in soil” and “Updated technical background to the CLEA model”. Defra and the Environment Agency have withdrawn all the previous CLR 7-10 documents since these will no longer fully reflect our revised approach. CLR7 contained information that is now addressed elsewhere or is covered by other guidance that is available. Information on the legal framework and the development of SGV and their use in the assessment of risks to human health from land contamination are covered within the Defra statements Outcome of the “Way Forward” exercise on Soil Guideline Values and Guidance on the legal definition of contaminated land. The statistical guidance contained within CLR7 represented a starting point for the interpretation of site data.
