Are the essential oils in the TheraNeem® soaps too concentrated or contraindicated for use during or pregnancy or lactation?
During pregnancy or lactation it is wise to consult your primary health care provider if there is any concern or potential contraindication for using a body care product or a dietary supplement. When creating a pure soap, the heat created from the processing of the soap (saponification) damages some of the therapeutic constituents of the essential oils. Any form of heat will damage the volatile constituents of an essential oil. The essential oils present in our soap still offer “aromatherapeutic” benefits to calm and nourish the mind and body. However, the concentration of essential oils present in our soaps are not intended to have the same physiologically therapeutic effects as when using a more concentrated amount of essential oils.
