Are the electric radiator fans normally running when traveling at highway speeds in a FWD vehicle?

Electric Fans work on a thermostat electrical switch that turns them on as needed. Normally going freeway speed they will be off unless you are climbing a big hill or it is a very hot day and you are using the A/C, but even then they will turn on and off as needed. If you have ever noticed, if you pull up at your home and shut you car off and get out you will sometimes hear the fan still running. It will run until it get down to a pre-set temperature. Does not matter wether it is 2WD or 4WD, still only comes on as needed.
