Are the dressings safe for use on 3rd and 4th degree burns?
A third degree burn or full thickness burn penetrates all layers of the skin and destroys nerve endings. In many cases, the patient will not feel pain. 4th degree burns extend down to muscle and / or bone. They are extremely rare and very serious. The main objective for burns of this nature is to maintain the core body temperature of the victim. In these cases, it should be left to the discretion of the attending medical personnel as to whether the victim will benefit from cooling the burn.
