It exists as pure theory, until put into practice, at which point, whatever moral and ethical qualities are present come from the people who participate in it. Theory has the advantage of being pure and pristine. Many of the systems in place in the world sound a lot better on paper than the practical reality. An economic, or for that matter, political or social system is a reflection of those who participate in it, and therefore, if the dominant economic systems in the world are flawed, it is because we ourselves, who participate in them, are flawed.
