Are the dogs separated by size, age or activity level ?
Usually the pack is harmonious enough with little or no separation, so there are no hard rules for dividing the dogs. However, our yard is divided with a fence that can be used to partition into two separate play areas, and we also have two large indoor playrooms and a small kennel room with deluxe crates, so if we see the need for a Little Dogs group, a Nap Time group, or a Get Me Out of This Weather group, we can do that on any given day. Depending on the dynamics of the pack, we sometimes handpick a group of compatible dogs to lower the intensity in the yard. It’s all about what the dogs seem to want and need on any particular day.
