Answer Hi David – Not necessarily more powerful, just more destructive. The disruptors cause immediate and catastrophic disruption within the molecular structure of anything they hit, whereas the phasers are more precise and somewhat less destructive. I guess the best analogy I can come up with would be the effects of a hunting knife vs. a scalpel. Both will cut you, one will do so with much more precision, but neither is necessarily more powerful than the other. Thanks!
