Are The Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncologys Greening the Cleaning® products really “green”?
Yes, our products utilize natural or naturally-derived ingredients with the least level of toxicity. Our cleaning products do not contain carcinogens, mutagens, neurotoxins, teratogens, or endocrine disruptors. In addition, they are free of ozone depleting compounds, greenhouse gases, and substances that contribute to smog. Our products also meet other very stringent requirements that ensure they cleanse effectively without harming the environment or people. They do not affect wildlife or aquatic life and are readily biodegradable. If all ingredients on a product label are environmentally sound, does that guarantee that a product is “green?” No, companies are not required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to disclose ingredients that are less than 1 percent of the product, so although they list the non-toxic chemicals, other chemicals may be present.
