Are the current problems worse than 1973-74?

I’m not sure how many of you clearly remember the 1973-74 recession, but I wasn’t even alive yet. If you do remember it, are the current problems in the financial system worse than the 1973-74 recession or the 1982 recession? I asked my mom about it, and yeah it was bad, but she doesn’t remember the 70s being this serious. The 73-74 recession seemed to be mostly the energy crisis, huge inflation, massive layoffs in late 74, and uncertainty over the Nixon impeachment/new Ford administration. The UK also had a major recession & bear market in ’74.
