Are the CHC services covered by OHIP?
Yes, the services provided through CHCs are covered by OHIP. Some services may require co-payment (e.g. through ODSP). The CHC is a not-for-profit corporation, and any charges for services would cover the cost of provision if they are not funded by an external funder. All of the current community support services (e.g. meals on wheels) which have a client contribution will continue to operate under the current fee for service guidelines for community support services. With reference to our recent visit to 2 CHCs, what elements were most valuable for our planned CHC? Every CHC is unique and has different programs, services and components that we can learn from.
