Are the Carrera Subway or Saracen Venturer bikes any good from Halfords?
i personally think the carrera brand is way under rated bike due to the fact that is is sold by halfords which has a sh-it reputation but i currrently ride a kona and some of the carreras in halfords have the same or very similar spec so in my opinion i would highly recommend buying the carrera subway as a commute bike, i did see in 2007 the carrera vulcan won the award for the best bike for under £300 and it also recommended buying 2 if you were willing to spend £500 plus on a mountain bike, but saying this obviously the more you spend the better the spec goes on the cycle but if you look after any bike it will see you through your needs, hope this helps to anwser your question
