Are the batteries in electric cars recyclable?
Like any other battery, the possibility exists to recycle the batteries in electric cars. Several manufacturers have developed a recycling process for the batteries in their hybrids. Every part of the battery is recycled – from the precious metals to the plastic, plates, steel case and wiring. For example, Toyota clearly inscribes a telephone number on its hybrid vehicle batteries, that people can call in order to claim a $200 deposit on used batteries.
