Are the band Dimmu Borgir satanists?
*Sigh* I have extensive knowledge of this field of music, I’ll help you… They use it as imagery, and as musical concept for the purpose of art. As with most black metal (which is a genre that they loosely fit into), they’re not Satanists in particular, but they use Satanism as an artistic expression and concept in order to portray through their art of music that they are self-expressing their dislike for Christianity. They know a thing or two about Satanism, because it’s not too difficult to find information on, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they collectively, or even individually believe or follow it. Regardless rather the band is, or is not followers of the Left Hand Path, The Church of Satan, the First Church of Satan, The OTO, The ONA, The Argenteum Astrum, Chaos Magic, Zos Kia Cultus, or Anti-Cosmic Gnosticism, I can personally assure you that while their lyrics are aggressive toward Christianity, there is no harm in listening to the music itself.
