Are the ATM telephone lines encrypted?
No. The actual telephone line is not encrypted, but the communication strand sent across the line is. Most equipment we provide encrypts the transaction into a triple des encryption “3-des” (one step down from 128 bit encryption) communication at the terminal itself. There is also encryption, changed regularly, by the processor and the networks to ensure added integrity to the system.
