Are the architectural designs for the proposed new school final?
No. All of the site and floor plans that have been presented to help explain the plan for the proposed new High School are still conceptual and preliminary. They have been developed primarily to determine overall square footage requirements, site logistics, and cost estimates to ensure the approved plan will meet our programming needs without exceeding our referendum budget. The District cannot afford to produce high level architectural drawings prior to residents passing the referendum, as the fees associated with this work are included in the total project cost. Once voters approve the referendum, our architects, Plunkett Raysich, will begin an extensive design process that requires numerous meetings with District faculty, staff, administrators, and Board Members. Specifics related to classroom design and location, furniture, fixtures, and other features will be determined at this time.
