Anywhere in the countries of the world, politics and economics are closely connected. But nowhere have the economic interests dominated the national politics so much as in America. The American parties belong to different economic interests. The Republican Party finds its centre of economic gravity in the industrial and financial interests of the nation. The Democratic Party derives its support from the agriculture interests of the country.
