Are Thai staff respectful towards foreign employees?
Working in Thailand will also mean that your co-workers hold you in high esteem but they may also be a little jealous of you because you will be earning a lot more money than they are. You should be aware of this, especially if you are in a position of power, as Thais can be slightly unwilling to work for a westerner and may prefer to work for a Thai. If you are in an organisation where you have similar qualifications to other members of the team you may still be earning more than your Thai counterpart. They may feel you should be paid the same as them because they have similar skills to you, so it is best to not talk about wages and how much you earn and not to flaunt your money.
