Although all art forms (including visual art, music, theater, plays, and movies) contain elements that can be described textually, TA courses must focus on the analysis of written texts. Art classes that teach students to improve and articulate their abilities to construct meaning and analysis from non-written texts would be strong candidates for the IM designation.
