Are synthetic oils better than mineral oils?
Despite the possible cost/price gap between a synthetic and a mineral oil for those applications where extreme low/high temperature/pressure are required, the advantages of using a Synthetic Oil can justify this “gap”. Air Compressors, Turbo Chargers and Enclosed Gears can benefit from Synthetic oils extending their life and timing between the overhauls. In these past years for some specific applications the use of synthetic oils has become almost “mandatory” therefore all the oil majors have developed a list of synthetic oils able to cover all the possible needs. Carefully controlled in dedicated laboratories, Synthetic Base Oils are the result of specific chemical processes, selecting and using extremely pure chemical components.
