Are swollen glands caused by voice training, singing Karoake and use of a communal microphone?

I had a slight discomfort in the throat area which has got a bad sore throat and swollen glands. Ran high fever, after a night of chronic cough, led to pain in the lower chest and back pain. After a course of antibiodics the fever disappeared, the cough has slowed, but I always feel bad in the throat. The doctor told me that the glands around my throat are very badly swollen. My question is, since I took singing lessons recently, could be the cause due to my vocal training (low to high pitch), singing Karoake and use a microphone that is shared by many people. Pls advise. It seems like you had an infection, it would not have been caused by the things you mention.
