Sulfites are used to keep the fruit from spoiling before it is juiced for fermentation. If you’re allergic to sulfites, you can die from anaphylactic shock. They also warn on most chocolates which do NOT contain nuts, that the candy was made in a facility where tree nuts or peanuts are handled. It doesn’t take much dust from the peanuts to cause a severe allergic reaction. The alcohol is far more harmful to most people than the sulfites are. “Drink bought from an off-license.” You’re talking about bootleggers? They aren’t worried about leaving off that warning. Neither are bank robbers worried about getting arrested for jaywalking….
