Are sugar daddy arrangements prostitution?
…No. I seen this on a TV show once. There are many sugar daddys who are like 50-70…and they have goozles of women they love to buy things for. The women dont have to sleep with them or anything, only give them companionship and talk to em. The sugar babies need the gifts and cars and cash, and the sugar daddies love giving them. Hey…whatever works.
Under the law, it’s an open and shut ‘no’. But from a moral/societal POV, there seems to be more area for debate. For me, when I think back to when marriages were arranged, families were expected to pay dowries, and no one had qualms with men “providing” for the woman, it seems like it was primarily a financial relationship for the woman’s family and the man got the woman. Having a sugar dad is sorta like the dowry going straight to the woman but she still retains her autonomy and rights.
Are working man & stay-at-home housewife/mother situations prostitution? I’m assuming these people have an agreed upon arrangement for how each person contributes to the household. It’s not like the woman gets paid for sex directly. The relationship probably includes sex, and the man happens to be wealthy, and supports his woman financially. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that as long as both parties are content in their relationship.
