As long as one of the original educational facilities is annually rehiring the substitute and there is no break in service, there is no need to have the individual reapply for a criminal history record check when adding a new educational facility. However, the new employer should require the substitute employee to provide proof of continuous employment. An individual, who is first hired as a substitute and later selected for a permanent position within the same educational facility, is not required to undergo a new criminal history record check.
