Are subs supposed to hit the high pitch bass notes?
As pitch goes up, the more a speaker vibrates. The more it vibrates the more energy it takes to make it vibrate it faster. As the size of the speaker gets bigger, the harder it is to move the cone fast enough to create high pitched bass. Eventully, the speaker just dosen’t have enough “ooph” to recreate high pitched sounds. The only fix for this is to spend more money on better equipment. This is the reason, I personally do not recommend subs larger than 8″ for anyone that is only going to use factory speakers in the rest of the vehicle because it will sound like garbage. If you are going to go over 8″, the most effective solution is to put a crossover in line with your subs to cut off the upper range frequency that sounds bad and replace your factory speakers with a high quality speaker that can handle low ranges up the the point you cut your your subs off. This will give you good quality sounds out of your subs and your mid and high range speakers.
