Are suboxone and oxycontin abuse equally dangerous?

0

Suboxone has a “maximum” dose and taking any more will not produce any extra euphoric or other psychotropic effects. Thus Suboxone can only go so far. OxyContin is a full opioid agonist (ie when it binds with receptors it fully activates them) so there is no maximum dose. A person can take huge amounts of OxyContin at one time as their tolerance increases. Many long term users who take OxyContin to get high often take enough medication in a day to kill several people who have not had exposure to opioids. I remember one man who was taking enough heroin a day that it could kill at least ten people who had not taken opioids. Suboxone also lasts a long time so if a person keep taking it before they should they could end of overdosing. And if a person takes another opioid (like oxycodone) when on Suboxone they can go into very severe withdrawal if they are physically dependent. They are both controlled substances, they both have similar effects, and when either drug is used in any way excep
