International exchanges of BMENA students/faculty/staff are acceptable, but not required. Applicants should remember that the implementation plan must address objectives from the RFA. If exchanges are a realistic way to address the objectives at hand, in light of the 18 month time frame of the grant, then be sure to include these activities in the application. Applicants should also take into account the cost-effectiveness of the proposed activities and the length of time required to process USAID J-1 visas for BMENA participants.
