Are students covered for medical treatment liability when undertaking clinical practicums?
The University provides medical treatment liability cover for students undertaking clinical practicums, which: • are a requirement of their academic programs, and • which are conducted under approved supervision by a qualified professional, for errors or omissions in the treatment of third parties. The cover is for the rendering or failing to render medical or health services provided in the conduct of the student’s course activities.
