Are strong arguements and stress be bad for pregnancy?

Stress is definitely bad for the body, especially in late pregnancy. I don’t think she is being unreasonable in wanting to be prepared for her baby, and not having anything ready is probably just stressing her out even more. It’s not a good idea for her husband to make her wait until so late to shop. It is very difficult to shop near the end when walking is difficult, your whole body hurts, and you get out of breath easily. If her shower is soon anyway, she could just go ahead and shop to put her mind at ease, but keep the receipts to return anything she doesn’t end up needing.

To be honest… he’s probably having a really hard time too. That’s no excuse for how he’s treating her, but some empathy for him might be well placed. That said, arguments can be bad for pregnancy, but they can be bad for anyone. Arguing and stressing out raises your blood pressure. Some pregnant women are particularly prone to high blood pressure which can become preeclampsia and needs to be monitored carefully. When I was pregnant I got so sick at the beginning that my husband failed one of his classes and I had to quit my job. I couldn’t do anything, then when I did get feeling better I was put on bed rest. My husband had to find a full-time job which was frustrating because the plan was that I would work full time till he got done with college.
