Are stones coming out of watches covered by any guarantee ?
Regrettably not. The nature and design of stone set watches means that they are unfortunately subject to wear and tear and occasionally one or two may come out. The reason that causes this is not poor build quality or manufacturing techniques but usually happens either when the glue holding them in place reacts with a substance such as perfume or another chemical; or when they can get caught and dislodged by clothes fibres. Because of this no watch manufacturer covers stones coming out under their warranty and class this as ‘wear and tear’. What is The WATCH Lab policy on water resistance following repairs? The WATCH Lab does not guarantee water resistance on older timepieces, gold watches or indeed any watch that has either not been tested for water resistance or has been tested but failed.
