Are state efforts to address public safety services around Fairbanks and Interior Alaska adequate?
Why or why not? My gratitude is to those in this field — the police, village public safety officers, ambulance personnel, air traffic controllers, child protection workers, law professionals, and others that keep our lives safe. What should the state do about calls for tax certainty on the proposed natural gas pipeline? The oil companies say they need tax certainty in order to proceed. Some state leaders say they don’t. What do you think? Tax certainty is one element that is more controllable that many market or environmental elements. Should we offer certainty in statute or the Constitution? Oil companies want it more solid than a statute, a constitutional change for this project. Our Constitution gives taxing authority to the Legislature and I am not ready to change that. 6.
