Are stains good for interior as well as exterior?
The answer is a resounding yes. We routinely install both with equal success. The main difference is in the clear, protective coatings that we use. Once the area has been stained, we will use epoxy-based as well as urethane-based materials for interior applications. For exterior applications, however, we do not use epoxy-based coatings as they amber (yellow) over time with UV exposure. As such, we use acrylics and urethane-based coatings only for exterior applications. Applications that we typically install on exteriors include: patios, porches, driveways, balconies, and walls.
