Are staffordshire bull terriers easy to train?
I have a staff and she was pleasant to train. They can be hard headed but they are very treat motivated. You have to be very firm with them and don’t back down. They LOVE pleasing their owners so LOTS and LOTS of praise when they do something good is the ticket. Leash training is the most difficult because they get tunnel vision when they see something that sparks their interest. I suggest a Gentle Leader head collar for leash training. It worked miracles for my dog. She sings, sits, stands up on her back legs, lays down, stays, gets “in her box” (crate) when she’s been naughty, and gets “on her mat” when it’s time for bed. She gives me her paw when I ask and if I say “other one” she immediately gives me the other one. She is awesome with her recall and is exceptionally house trained. Good luck and have fun if you decide on the Staff. They are a pleasure to own.
