Are staff and children actively involved in improving their school community?

0

Staff and children are very proud of their school. Teamwork and morale are very positive. Children are actively improving their learning environment. Children have helped to develop a garden area by planting fruit and vegetables. The school has achieved a silver award from Eco-Schools Scotland. The pupil council has improved how children earn rewards. Staff regularly discuss, plan and evaluate their work through regular meetings with the headteacher and support staff. They take part in professional training to improve children’s experiences. They take responsibility for key areas of the school’s work, including developing aspects of the curriculum. The headteacher monitors the work in classes effectively and provides constructive feedback to teachers. She acts on the views of staff, parents and children about ways to improve the work of the school. Although the school has improved children’s attainment, staff still need to strengthen systems for tracking children’s progress.
