Are Spousal and Child Support Amounts Fair?
Did your attorney make mistakes during your divorce? My attorney was wonderful. The only mistake that I can truly say he made was not filing a Write of Execution when he was supposed to. I kept asking about it, and he kept telling me different stories: He was waiting for word from the court, then he had just filed it, then he didn’t even remember.Were you the victim of an unethical judge? I’m not sure. Of course, in my mind that must have been what happened, but I’m not a lawyer. I don’t have full knowledge of the law in the way that an attorney or even a judge pro tem would. My husband was ordered to pay $7k in attorney’s fees and $6522 in support per month in 7/06. He paid nothing at all (I was a homemaker for 6 years prior to our split). He was in Mexico (not Hispanic) from 1/06 until 5/09. I always assumed that of course, the court would see things my way — he deserted us with no money, no house, and barely a car. I think the Commissioner was MUCH easier on him than the law allows
