Are Sphynx cats hypoallergenic?

No cat breed is hypoallergenic. Most people are allergic to cat dander (cat saliva that dries and becomes airborne). Since a Sphynx has little or no hair they have a tendency to groom less. Their dander is not dispersed by shedding hair. Since they require baths, the dander on the skin gets removed regularly. This results in a cat tolerated well by many people with allergies. If you have cat allergies it’s best to visit someone with a Sphynx (or other Rex breed) to determine your allergic response. Don’t acquire a kitten to test out your allergies!
