Are sound recordings & audio books eligible for PLR?

0

As the law stands only printed books qualify for PLR. Since 1996 the lending out by libraries of audio-books has been governed by copyright law. Authors and performers therefore have the right to seek a copyright licence fee from libraries for the lending out of their audio material. The Authors’ Licensing & Collecting Society (ALCS) has been looking into possible licensing arrangements with libraries on behalf of authors and you may wish to contact them to check on progress (see Related Links).
