Are some Clone Golf Clubs illegal?
Most definitely, they are commonly referred to as illegal knockoffs or counterfeits. The products that are offered by these counterfeiters are products that violate the trade dress, trademarks, patents and/or copyrights of another company. These illegal knockoffs and counterfeits pose a significant problem to the golf industry. The counterfeiters are essentially stealing from the Name Brand Companies. At the same time they pose a problem to us and ultimately to the consumers. The counterfeiters’ goal in most cases is to confuse the consumer into thinking that they are actually purchasing the Name Brand Companies’ product. These companies steal from us because we try to play by the rules and they don’t. We at Big Papa Golf do not sell nor endorse any of these types of products that blatantly violate other companies’ intellectual properties.
