Are some buildings exempt from the requirement to obtain a Building Permit?

0

Building Permits are required for building or construction works relevant to building, re-building, erecting, re-erecting, repairing, alteration, enlarging, extending, placement or relocation of a building. There are some exemptions from this requirement for some building or construction works of a minor nature. Unroofed pergolas and some small sheds and outbuildings may not require a Building Permit. Such exemptions do not include exemption from the requirements in relation to siting or construction standards of buildings.
