Are Sobriety Checkpoints Really Any Good at Stopping Drunk Drivers?

As I headed down Hampton Avenue in the south part of the city, I suddenly noticed that there were barriers set up in the road, those orange and yellow sawhorses with blinking lights on top of them. There was a confusing maze of them and they directed everybody into a Walgreen’s parking lot. There the police had set up a sobriety checkpoint. I have terrible night vision and I thought that I may have knocked one of the barriers over as I tried to navigate through the maze. A policeman waved me over out of the line.
