Honestly it’s just a matter of what you prefer. Personally I prefer rough ones because they seem unihibited. When only smooth ones are available I look for an imperfection on the surface. I feel it allows me to enter into the raw energy of the item. When selecting stones for my Money bags or meditation spheres I prefer smooth stones.
