Are Small Portable Steamers Effective?
From egg to adult, proper steam treatments kill all stages of bed bug development (including eggs) and are considered a formidable weapon in the fight against bed bugs. Unfortunately, cheap plastic steamers below the $400.00 range can be very ineffective since they rarely come close to matching the power of professional dry steamers. Low grade steamers often produce inadequate steam power to travel deeply into hidden areas where bed bugs hide. Additionally, a lack of proper accessories and low steam output make renting a commercial steamer a more realistic approach if you want to seriously attack the infestation.
