Are sketches necessary in a car accident insurance claim or will photos do?

In my experience a mixture of both are best. Photographs can only record the aftermath of the accident and show where the vehicles and/or persons ended up when everything had come to a conclusion. Sketches/diagrams can show how the incident happened; you can indicate the actual route(s) being taken by those involved and can demonstrate (for example) if the other party was at fault (in your opinion) as s/he crossed a line or went thro’ a light, etc. etc. Your photos can them reinforce your sketches by showing that the after effects of the incident were as you described.

Sketches are necessary, but if you provide photos as well, than that will help your claim.

What is your question?
